Advanced Bar Code (ABC), or Delivery Point Bar Code (DPBC), is a POSTNET bar code used by the Postal Service to sort the mail to the walk sequence of the carrier route which saves hours of manual sorting each day.
The Postal Service gives substantial discounts to mailers who use the Advanced Bar Code in their bulk mailings.
Selecting Postal Bar Code, under the Templates menu, Options..., will automatically create POSTNET bar code for all 9-digit ZIP codes by adding the last two digits of the street address to the ZIP+4 code.
Note: You will not see the two extra digits added to the ZIP+4 in the mailing address.
